Many of our centres have courses, which are not accredited by any
organisation, or maybe they would like to have accreditation and a certificate
from an organisation such as ATHE who are respected and heavily involved with
travel, tourism and hospitality education.
We can now offer an accreditation service to centres that run courses
but are not accredited by any other body. It means that the successful
candidates of the courses accredited will get an ATHE sealed certificate.
To offer this service we need to decide if the qualification offered matches the
standards set by ATHE requirements. If that is the case, it is then just
a simple case of taking names of successful students and providing the centre
with sealed certificates. . This is normally done with individual
applications but can be agreed with established centres en bloc to make it
easier. The cost of this will vary and will depend on the level of the
course, but will vary from £5 to £10
per student. We would require a minimum of 10 students per posting. ATHE will
not be involved in any marking, monitoring or any other
activity except the administration of providing certificates.
We are confident that our present active centres will maintain a high
standard. We would however maintain the right to provide moderation by selecting
a percentage of the work and double marking it.
Before agreeing to this ATHE will need full details of the courses such
as the syllabus or Learning outcomes, length of course plus any other relevant
details. In order to satisfy the board as regards quality we would also initially require a
copy of a typical question paper and a copy of an answer paper whether it be examination
or project. After that establsihed centres or those who are known to us will simply send us names
as they would appear on the certificate.
This programme can also be applied to past students who have gained the
qualification but require a certificate from an established UK organisation.
