The diploma programme is divided into
8 units. Four are mandatory and there is a choice of 4 from a number of units
as optional units. The duration of the course depends on the time you have
available and can vary from 6 months to a year or more.

allows you to select the best time to study to suit your own
circumstances. It also provides you the flexibility to remain in full-time
employment. You can continue to earn while you learn. It is easy to
combine home and work life with distance learning?

and where it suits you best and you do not need to attend timetabled
lectures or tutorials. If your circumstances require it we can help you to
take a study break or defer your studies for a short while.

learning student, you will be registered as a student, get a student card
and enjoy the benefits, discounts and final award as full-time students.

local tutor for assistance and advice anytime. Any additional support is
included in the normal cost of the programme.
What next:
You will receive your course by first class post or use our
online facilities. The course text runs
into nearly 1000 pages. You can of
course print it out yourself in your own time. The advantage of online is that
the course is continually updated. You will also receive a CD of the whole course which you can print out.
As soon as you have received your course and
username/password you can start your online studies. There are no time limits
to complete the course. You will be able to look at typical questions so that
you can have an idea of the level required.
You will be given the email and address of a personal tutor
who will be available during the day and at times during the evening to talk to
you if necessary.
At the end of each unit you will complete a multi choice
set of questions as well as some written questions. You will then email them directly
to your tutor who will mark and grade them. They will be returned to you. If
you want to improve your work, the tests can be re submitted.
After the satisfactory completion of all 8 units you will
receive a Diploma from ASET, a major UK awarding body. You will then be able to show
this to employers or colleges as proof of knowledge. As a Level 4 course you
can also apply for a University place.
Delivery of course:
Unit 1 will be done first and a short test taken at the end
to show proof of understanding. After
that anyone of the three further units can be taken. All other three mandatory units
however must be completed but the order of units taken can be made by
arrangement with ATHE
Students are expected to keep in touch by email or
post. Students are advised to use email as a response can sometimes be done
within minutes and certainly within a day.
Assessment method
The
International Diploma in Business Management is assessed by means of a written
examination. An optional assignment can be done by arrangement. The assignment
can be organized by the centre tailored to the optional units that the student
has chosen.
Accreditation diploma
On successful completion of the course a diploma
will be provided by ASET. Successful students will receive a Pass, Merit or
Distinction grade. If the student does not complete the whole course an ATHE
Certificate will be provided for each unit taken successfully.
Learning materials
They are purpose-written, designed and have been developed
against the high quality criteria laid down by the awarding bodies and which
need to be acceptable to Universities. They'll take you through your subject just
as lectures would, and give you a ready-made reference that you can use like a
textbook and at the start of your revision. You never miss out on any part of
the course, don't have to struggle to take notes as a lecturer speaks, and can
keep going over the same section of work until you understand it fully. You'll
also have regular self-checking exercises in the learning materials to help you
to gauge your progress and build confidence, and exam-style assignments for you
to send to your tutor.
You will have
your own personal tutor.
When you enrol with ATHE,
a personal tutor will be assigned to you. Your tutor will be with you
throughout your course. They will correct your assignments and give you any
helpful advice on the way to achieving your education goals. Any time you have
difficulty with a section of your course, you can contact your tutor via email,
letter or telephone. The tutors are all experienced in business and are eager
to pass on their knowledge. You can be confident during your studies that there
is someone to help you at all times. Your tutor will be based at a local centre
wherever possible.
What next?
The fee
for the course is £280. There is no further payment if the course is taken by
self study online. A CD will also de sent with the initial package.
If you
require a bound hard copy (nearly 800 pages) there is an additional charge of
£110 making the total £390.
